Former UFC standout Erick Silva bounced back Friday night at LFA 45 with a come-from-behind victory against Nick Barnes.
Erick Silva was desperately in need of a win on Friday night at LFA 45. The former UFC welterweight standout had been cut from the big show after running up a 1-4 record in his past five fights. That put Silva in dire straights, and frankly put a target on his back: a name fighter, on the downslide, who up-and-comers would look to make a name off of.
Nick Barnes was the first to meet Silva, welcoming the Brazilian to LFA. And it looked, early, like he’d get the better of the former UFC fighter. Barnes was able to drop Silva in the first round, and it seemed as if the fight was headed in his direction. Only, Silva was able to lock in a hail mary arm-bar, earning the tap with little more than fifteen seconds left in the round!
