After a fun night of fights at UFC Singapore, Ovince St. Preux and Song Yadong found themselves among the bonus winners.
The UFC’s voyage into Singapore created a spectacular night of fights. With that comes the normal post-fight bonuses. The first of four bonuses at UFC Singapore was given out to Ovince Saint Preux. OSP picked up a great comeback victory over the young up and comer Tyson Pedro in the co-main event of the card. Saint Preux was rocked early by Pedro, but got into the clinch and got him to the ground. The savvy ground specialist got on top and got Pedro into a straight armbar position and got Pedro to tap near the end of the first. It’s a win that should move OSP up in the division, possibly into the top five.
The second performance of the night went to the 20 year old Song Yadong. Yadong had a dominating second round finish of Felipe Arantes. In only his second fight in the UFC, Yadong put himself on the map and showed why he’s a bright prospect in the UFC’s bantamweight division. He’s certainty an interesting young fighter to watch from here on out.
For the UFC’s Fight of the Night, the UFC went back to the prelims, where we saw a battle of featherweights. Rolando Dy and Shane Young went to war, with Shane Young coming out on top in the second round with the TKO over Rolando Dy. Young gets his first victory in the UFC with the win over Dy after losing his first fight in the promotion last November. Dy drops to 1-3 in the promotion with the loss. But with the fight of the night, it’s likely Dy will get another shot in the UFC.
All four fighters will earn an extra $50,000 for their efforts.
