Heavyweight vet Phil De Fries has his debut assignment for new home KSW later this year.
A little bit of international MMA news heading your way: veteran heavyweight Phil De Fries, who announced recently that he had signed with Poland’s KSW, has his first fight in the promotion lined up. De Fries (14–6 (1)), last seen in Bellator defeating James Thompson in December, will face Michal Andryszak at KSW 43 in April. Topping that card (though the fights are both referred to as “main event bouts”) will be Damian Janikowski vs. Yannick Bahati.
KSW announced the bouts early Monday following a report by Sherdog.

Aside from his recent Bellator gig, De Fries also picked up a win against Anton Vyazigin in M-1 in October. That put the UFC veteran on a two fight win streak heading into KSW 43. Michal Andryszak, meanwhile, is the winner of six straight, including a 2016 victory over the late Tim Hague.
In the other announced bout, Damian Janikowski (2-0) will have his home town behind him in Wroclaw, Poland. The 2012 Olympic medalist is quickly becoming a top star for KSW, and has drawn England’s Yannick Bahati (8-3) this time out. Bahati has lost two straight, and will be making his KSW debut in Wroclaw.
KSW 43 takes place at the Centennial Hall in Wroclaw on April 14.
