ONE Championship announced via press release on Tuesday that its upcoming ONE Championship: Legends of the World event will get a second title fight. Joining the already announced champ vs. champ battle between lightweight World Champion Eduard Folayang and featherweight World Champion Martin Nguyen will by a flyweight title fight. The bout, featuring champ Adiano Moraes against Danny Kingad, will serve as the card’s co-main event.
Moraes recaptured the flyweight title after claiming interim gold in 2016. He had originally lost the belt to Kairat Akhmetov at ONE Championship 34 in a split decision. Following that, he went on a two-fight win streak, claiming interim gold in the process, then defeated Akhmetov this past August in their rematch. In doing so, Moraes (16-2) handed Akhmetov his first professional loss.
Flyweight challenger Danny Kingad (5-0) has won three straight under the ONE Championship banner, most recently against Muhammad Aiman in April. Two of his three ONE Championship bouts have ended in a finish.
Also added to the ONE Championship: Legends of the World card, Kevin Belingon (16-5) wil meet Korean-American Kevin Chung (4-0) at featherweight, while Brazil’s Alex “Little Rock” Silva (5-1), a BJJ world champion, takes on Japan’s Hayato Suzuki (17-0). The undefeated Suzuki has spent most of his career in Japan, competing for DEEP and VTJ, among other promotions. He won his ONE Championship debut in August, submitting Joshua Pacio via rear-naked choke in the first round. With an unblemished record, a win at Legends of the World could push him towards a shot at the flyweight crown.
Anatpong Bunrad (5-3), meanwile, will look to snap a two-fight losing streak when he takes on Reece McLaren (9-5) in further flyweight action. The bout will mark McLaren’s flyweight debut for ONE.
On the women’s side, Gina Iniong (5-2) will take on Priscilla Hertati Lumban Gaol (0-1). Gaol lost her ONE Championship and professional debut at Throne of Tigers back in February.
In strawweight action, Joshua Pacio (9-2) will face off against Roy “The Dominator” Doliguez (7-4), and Peng Xue Wen squares off with three-time national Kun Khmer champion Phat Soda of Cambodia. A featherweight tilt between China’s Xie Chao and Malaysia’s Kelvin Ong rounds out the most recent additions to the card.
ONE Championship: Legends of the World takes place in at the Mall of Asia Arena in Manilla, Philippines on November 10. Eduard Folayang’s lightweight title will be on the line in the main event as featherweight champ Martin Nguyen moves up to challenge him.
