Andrei Arlovski isn’t ready to call it a day just yet, and it appears that the UFC isn’t ready to cut their former heavyweight champ loose either. Despite being on a five fight losing streak, “The Pitbull” has been booked for a fight on November’s UFC Norfolk card. Known also as UFC Fight Night 120, the event goes down in Norfolk, Virginia and features a main event of Anthony Pettis taking on Daniel Poirier. The UFC confirmed the pairing of Arlovski vs. Albini Friday.
Arlovski (25–15 (1)) has not picked up a win since defeating Frank Mir at UFC 191 in 2015. Since then, he has dropped bouts to Stipe Miocic, Alistair Overeem, Josh Barnett, Francis Ngannou, and most recently, Marcin Tybura. Despite this, Arlovski is still a tough out in a shallow heavyweight division where most stars, like Arlovski, are getting long in the tooth.
Albini (14-2) will ride a ten fight win streak into UFC Norfolk. He was a feel good story at UFC on Fox 25, making the most of his promotional debut by finishing the rugged Timothy Johnson at the event last month.
UFC Fight Night 120 takes place November 11 at the Ted Constant Convocation Center in Norfolk, Virginia. Nate Marquardt vs. Cezar Ferreira and Matt Brown vs. Diego Sanchez have also been announced for the card.
