Oklahoma City, Oklahoma tonight played host to UFC Fight Night 112, otherwise known as UFC Oklahoma City. The third featured bout of main card was a light heavyweight contest that saw Denmark’s Joachim Christensen square off with California native Dominick Reyes.
Joachim Christensen’s UFC debut at UFC Fight Night: Lineker vs. Dodson in October of last year saw Christensen tap to an armbar submission. Since then he has flip-flopped wins and losses, and tonight he looked to get himself back into the win column with a victory over Reyes.
UFC Oklahoma City saw the UFC debut of former NFL prospect Dominick Reyes opposite Christensen. Reyes had accumulated a flawless record of (6-0) outside of the UFC. He was hoping to make a splash with a big win at the event.
Reyes came out quick with a body kick early, then quickly landed a massive left that sent Christensen into the cage. A flurry of shots punctuated by another staggering left sealed the deal and Reyes earned himself the TKO in his UFC debut. While it’s just one fight, it’s hard to argue against the impact Reyes made in this one.
It was loud, heavy, and over quick. It’s doubtful Dominick Reyes’ debut could have gone any better.
