Former Bellator MMA welterweight champion Yaroslav Amosov has his next UFC assignment set.
Amosov (29-1) will face Joel Alvarez (23-3) as part of UFC 328 on May 9, 2026 at the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ.
Journalist Álvaro Colmenero was first to report news of the booking. Amosov previously teased a return to the cage shortly.
Ukraine’s Amosov, 32, went 27-0 to start his MMA career, capturing the Bellator welterweight crown against Douglas Lima and defending it nearly two years later against interim champ Logan Storley. In between, the American Top Team star joined in the defense of his native Ukraine against invading Russian forces, infamously retrieving his Bellator championship belt after his mother hid it in the early days of the war.
In his UFC debut, Amosov submitted welterweight wins leader Neil Magny.
Alvarez sits on a four-fight win streak, and after a number of stumbles making the lightweight limit, finally moved to welterweight last year. He defeated Vicente Luque via unanimous decision in his first fight at 170lbs.
