“Juicy J” was in action at UFC Seattle, as local boy Julian Erosa took on Lerryan Douglas in a featherweight fight that had fireworks in the forecast.
Erosa had seen a three-fight win streak snapped in his last outing; Douglas was making his promotion debut off his contract-winning performance on Dana White’s Contender Series.
Round one opened with both fighters exchanging leg kicks, and Erosa fired a sharp one-two before following up with a high kick. Douglas responded with a leg kick that oddly connected on Erosa’s jaw. Erosa regained his footing, but Douglas quickly dropped him with a crisp hook. Maintaining composure, Douglas let Erosa press forward, and when he did, Douglas landed several punishing shots while backing him up.
A jab sent Erosa down once more, followed by two more stuns from the same jab. Douglas then landed a right off the jab and finished with a right hand for a decisive knockdown, pouring on heavy strikes to secure a brutal, emphatic knockout.
With the win, Douglas improved to 14-5 as a professional in mixed martial arts, and has won six straight. That includes an LFA title, with Douglas initially winning an interim belt, then unifying it with a victory over Elijah Johns.
Official Result: Lerryan Douglas def. Julian Erosa via Knockout (punches), Round 1, 3:33
