Long time lightweight contender Beneil Dariush will face Australia’s surging prospect Quillan Salkilld to the spotlight when the two collide at UFC Perth on May 2.

The matchup pairs Dariush’s years of top-level experience with the momentum of Salkilld, who will look to make the biggest statement of his career in front of a home crowd.

Dariush (23-7-1) enjoyed a surge of success from 2018 through 2022, putting together an eight-fight winning streak with victories over notable opponents like Drew Dober, Tony Ferguson, and Mateusz Gamrot. Since then, however, Dariush has gone 1–3, suffering losses to Charles Oliveira, Arman Tsarukyan, and Benoit Saint-Denis. His lone victory during that stretch came against Renato Moicano at UFC 317.

Quillan Salkilld (11–1) has taken the MMA world by storm, going 4–0 since earning a UFC contract in 2024. Wins over Anshul Jubli, Yanal Ashmouz, Nasrat Haqparast, and Jamie Mullarkey have propelled him into the biggest fight of his career against Dariush. A victory over the longtime lightweight contender would mark the biggest statement of Salkilld’s career and potentially vault him into the division’s rankings.
