Houston — The doctor is in. Houston, anyway.
Uros “The Doctor” Medic gets a step up in competition at UFC Houston this Saturday, positioned in the co-main event opposite Geoff Neal. There’s a reason for the rise in profile of the Serbian welterweight, who has been living and training in the U.S. for over a decade now.
“Everybody knows the way I fight, I’m coming there to kill or die. And I think I’m going to kill this one,” Medic (12-3) told media outlets including Cageside Press on Wednesday.
Kill or die is right on the money. Medic has never seen the judges through his 15 professional fights. Decision? What’s that?
Still, the co-main event billing is a nice feather in his cap, though he was supposed to have one last time out as well.
“I was told previous fight that I would be a co-main, against Muslim Salikhov. And I was excited about that, but that didn’t happen,” noted Medic. “Now, unexpectedly I got a co-main, and I’m super happy, because I know it’s going to be a great fight and I know that’s what fans come to watch. I don’t know exactly what kind of game plan is for the main event, but I think I’m going to steal the show.”
Should he succeed in stealing the show, or at least getting the win at UFC Houston, the goal for 2026 is “to reach the top 15 and then we make our way through the rankings up top,” Medic later added. He currently sits on a two-fight win streak and is 3-1 across his last four, so the rankings are within reach.
As for his streak of never seeing the judges, it’s not something Medic has ever planned for. “I think with my fighting style, I don’t really think about ‘oh I have to get a finish.’ It’s just a style of fighting, and I think the UFC recognized that early on, and that’s the reason I got the opportunity when I got it,” Medic stated. “And that’s the reason I got an opportunity again today, or this Saturday. And I think that’s going to keep happening just because of the fighting style. I put on a show, and people come to watch the show, and I think it’s pretty self-explanatory.”
