Flyweights Wang Cong and Eduarda Moura had a rarely seen double-weight miss ahead of UFC Vegas 113 on Saturday.

At Friday’s official weigh-in, both fighters tipped the scales at 127.5lbs, effectively cancelling each other out.

How that would play out on Fight Night, and who actually had the rougher weight cut, was a question.

At least early, both women seemed ready to engage. Cong targeted the body, Moura had her moments, and arguably was pulling ahead. But it was Wang Cong, towards the end of the round, dropping Brazil’s Moura, and getting on top. Follow-up strikes rained down following that blow to the chin, with Cong landing a nasty elbow. Moura, inexplicably, survived, even grabbing an ankle just before the bell.

Moura looked exhausted between rounds. She was able, however, to earn a takedown and scramble on top early in the second. Cong, on her back, landed ineffective strikes, open-palm. Moura, unfazed, looked like she might set up an arm-triangle choke. Moura would eventually take the back, but couldn’t quite get a body triangle in, with Cong freeing herself— only to be dragged right back down. Hooks went in, and Moura eventually put a body triangle in place while she worked to get an arm under Cong’s chin. She had it in deep as Cong got to her knees, punching back at her opponent. Somehow, Cong survived, while Moura, now bloodied, mixed in heavy ground n’ pound.

Moura pursued another takedown a minute into round three, with Cong fighting it off for a time, and at least ending up on top. Her leg was threaded through Moura’s, however. Not entirely out of danger, but she would make it back to her feet. Cong then got on the attack, controlling from the back with one hook in, 90 seconds left on the blood. Moura’s nose was badly bloodied. Cong was landing short punches. Not fight enders, but they were adding up. She went for a choke. Moura had nowhere to go and looked exhausted. Cong worked on the rear-naked choke, but Moura gave the thumbs up. No finish, but a strong end to the third round for Wang Cong.

Official Result: Wang Cong def. Eduarda Moura by unanimous decision (30-27, 29-28, 29-28)
