The UFC liked last April’s Alexander Volkanovski vs. Diego Lopes so much, they’ve decided to run it back a second time, with the rematch headlining this Saturday’s UFC 325 in Sydney, Australia.
Two weeks in a row with numbered UFC events is a rarity, but this 1-2 punch both kicks off the Paramount+ era, and marks the end of the Pay-Per-View format stateside. That means that fans aren’t being asked to open their wallets in back-to-back weeks, a much more palatable situation. Unless you’re in one of those few territories (hi Canada!) still forking over big bucks for UFC cards.
For champ Volkanovski, this is his second straight bout with Lopes, though since their first encounter, Diego Lopes did jump back in the win column with a finish of Jean Silva.
