Josh Hokit Unbeaten at 8-0 After UFC 324 Win, Delivers Wild Post-Fight Interview

Josh Hokit delivered more than just a win at UFC 324. After defeating Denzel Freeman on Saturday night, the rising prospect kept the spotlight firmly on himself by staying in character through his post-fight interview and media scrum, channeling the unmistakable swagger of WWE legend “Macho Man” Randy Savage in a performance that had fans and reporters buzzing.

Hokit (8-0) entered the room wearing a robe that looked straight out of Star Wars, accompanied by a “translator” he introduced as Jared. As Hokit fired off promo-style rhymes, Jared handled the questions on his behalf, playing along as his interpreter.

“Endurance, I’m going to make the whole division increase their insurance,” Hokit told reporters including Cageside Press at his post-fight scrum while bouncing around.

“Right Jared?”

Jared translated for Hokit.

“The insurance is so they can go to the hospital after what Hokit does. He’s fast and the endurance it goes on for a while, so fast, but then for a while right,” he said.

“That’s bad for the other heavyweights. They get beat up and then they pay more insurance a month that way they can go to the hospital. You see what I’m saying right?”

One reporter asked about Hokit flipping Freeman off as he returned to his corner, and Jared didn’t seem to appreciate the question.

“He wouldn’t do something like that. That would be disrespectful. What had happened was his finger got caught in the glove weird. There was a hand cramp and that happened. It was not what you thought,” Jared said while Hokit groaned in cramp pain behind him.

“I feel like that’s bad journalism and shame on you for trying to spread that rumor.”

Hokit did answer at least one question: who does he want to face next?

“Waldo Cortes Acosta is a dead beat father. Not to one kid, but to 9 and in America, that’s a problem! Right Jared,” he said.

“I can’t confirm if any of that is true, but that would be an issue. I agree,” Jared said.

“That’s the downfall of America,” Hokit added.
