While there has been some talk of a Conor McGregor vs. Jorge Masvidal showdown as part of the UFC White House card this June, don’t hold your breath.

“Gamebred” himself hinted that he had big fight news coming in a recent interview with MMA Junkie, adding an openness to fighting at the rather unique event. “I get it if people don’t want to fight for the elitists or however they distribute the tickets, but I just want to fight at the White House. I’m a Latin motherf*cker, from immigrant parents on both sides, putting my crafts and skills on display, at the highest level in the White House lawn. Who’s ever done that? Nobody.”

That sparked rumors of a match-up with McGregor, who has for years been linked to a fight with Michael Chandler.

Not so, says Dana White.

“I don’t listen to any of the goofy sh*t that goes on,” White told tabloid TMZ recently, asked about rumors of McGregor-Masvidal taking place at the UFC White House event. “No, that’s goofy sh*t. The MMA world, I don’t listen to any of that. Literally, none of that is in my algorithm. Some people say, ‘Oh, did you hear?’ No. Almost everything you see on the internet about our sport is wrong. It’s all wrong.”

Jorge Masvidal, the original UFC “BMF” champion, hasn’t fought in MMA since an April 2023 loss to Gilbert Burns. He stepped into the boxing ring in 2024, losing to former UFC rival Nate Diaz. McGregor, meanwhile, hasn’t competed since breaking his leg in the rubber match of his trilogy with Dustin Poirier in 2021.

UFC White House is currently scheduled for June 14, 2026, and will take place on the south lawn of the White House grounds. No fights have been announced for the event.
