1. Jon Jones vs Alex Pereira

You probably wondered if Jon Jones would show up on the list.

You’d be forgiven if you had some feelings on Jones being added to this list.

Let’s cut to the chase. Jones, for all the turns his career has taken, already is considered the GOAT and has been called the Michael Jordan of mixed martial arts. That does not change if he doesn’t fight Tom Aspinall, Alex Pereira, or anyone else. That is also the reason why, despite a historic level of backlash, Jones walked away from a reported $30 million payday last year and retired.

So what changed? The White House. The groundbreaking event unlike any other that could add even to Jones’ already huge legacy. He has said it bluntly that he wants to be a part of it.

Factor in Alex Pereira, last year’s Fighter of the Year and the wrecking machine who has left multiple former champions on the canvas, and you have all the makings for a blockbuster event merely from a sporting standpoint.

Now the elephant in the room: UFC CEO Dana White has said that he will not entrust such a seminal event to Jones to headline. For months, White has been more vocal about the possibility of Conor McGregor being the main event.

A lot can happen before June and plenty of crazy things have happened before big events in MMA. So why not this time as well?
