On Saturday, the inaugural PFL Africa season would come to a close, with the Professional Fighters League crowning four regional tournament champions.
Bantamweight, featherweight, welterweight, and heavyweight tournaments were wrapping up, with 135lb’ers Nkosi Ndebele and Boule Godogo headlining the event, which saw the promotion making its debut in the nation of Benin, its third African country visited following South Africa and Rwanda.
Also in action, Abraham Bably was in the heavyweight final, taking on Justin Clarke. A PFL and Bellator vet, Bably had appeared in the World Tournament earlier this year, eliminated by UFC alum Rodrigo Nascimento. Going on to join the PFL Africa tournament, two first-round finishes had taken him to the final against South Africa’s Clarke.
In the night’s co-main event, meanwhile, Shido Boris Esperança faced Yabna N’Tchala in the welterweight tournament finale.
