Featherweights Morgan Charriere of France and Melquizael Costa of Brazil faced off on Saturday’s UFC Vegas 112 main card.
The final UFC event of 2025 (and of the ESPN era, with the promotion moving to Paramount+ in the U.S. in 2026) found Costa riding a four-fight win streak, while Charriere had been trading wins and losses – but was entering off a victory over Nate Landwehr.
Costa took the center of the cage in round one landing a solid body kick to the midsection of Charriere to start the contest. Costa continued to move forward and threw a head kick that was beautifully set up from the body kick before it. Charriere never saw the strike coming and was immediately separated from consciousness. This was a nasty knockout from Costa who put the division on notice with this performance. Standing 5’10 at 145-pounds, Costa is on of the most talented prospects in this weight class and did not even need to use his credentialed Jiu-Jitsu skills to pick up the victory.
An emotional Costa spoke with Michael Bisping following the win, thanking god and after picking up his fourth win of 2025. Costa is someone who will be in the rankings very soon and is a legitimate contender moving forward, matchup up well stylistically with the best of the Featherweight weight class.
