Terrance McKinney returns to action at UFC 323 on Saturday night with familiar intent, chaos, speed, and a finish. The lightweight bonus machine steps into Las Vegas looking to derail Chris Duncan and remind fans why he remains one of MMA’s most explosive wildcard threats every time the cage door closes.
“Man I’m so excited. He’s good at getting hit so it’s like, I love that, I’m excited to throw down and put on a show for you guys,” McKinney told reporters on Wednesday.
“He trying to kill me, I’m trying to kill him, yeah it’s going to be a fun one.”
McKinney (17-7) has built a reputation on chaos, win or lose, his fights rarely reach the judges’ scorecards. With a fast, explosive style and a willingness to take risks, every McKinney appearance comes with a guarantee: something wild is about to happen.
He couldn’t help, but crack a joke about that.
“Not this time. Terrance Magomedov’s coming out. I’m looking to get a boring decision, wrestle this guy 15 minutes straight, and get one step closer to the rankings,” McKinney said barely holding the laughter in.
“I want to tear up just to see how far God brought me. Everyday I’m truly grateful. Every opportunity. Just being in this room I feel like I’m getting one step closer to where I want to be,” he said.
“I want to headline an event one day, and I feel like this is the next step. I’m excited to show my growth this weekend.”
