Chance Ikei Stamps UFC-Ready Status at LFA 220, Nearly Became a Father Mid-Fight

Chance Ikei delivered a breakout performance at LFA 220 on Saturday night, dominating Jordan Burkholder with relentless pressure and precision to secure one of the most commanding victories of his young career.

The Arizona prospect showcased a polished, high-paced attack from start to finish, leaving little doubt that he’s rapidly emerging as a serious name to watch in the flyweight division.

“Big thanks to my coach Frankie and everyone over at The MMA Lab. (They) put a lot of time an effort into the game plan and we went out there and we did what we needed to do to execute it,” Ikei told Cageside Press following the victory.

“Overall a great camp and blessed to have all my brothers and sisters helping me out every time.”

Ikei (6-0) didn’t hesitate when asked what’s next. The undefeated prospect made it clear he’s ready for the biggest leap of his career, and he’s not picky about how it comes.

“6-0, three fights finished, so looking for an opportunity at Dana White’s Contender Series, short-notice call or an LFA title shot. I’m ready to take either one,” he said.

Beyond the victory itself, Chance Ikei was fighting with even more on his mind. His wife was expecting to give birth at any moment. The timing was so close that he admitted there was a very real chance he could have missed it completely.

“So excited! I’m very thankful that he wasn’t born while I was in the cage. She’s luckily still here in the crowd so going to spend the rest of the evening with her,” said Ikei.

“Now it’s all about her and getting him here.”
