Christian Natividad delivered exactly the kind of performance the UFC keeps its eyes open for on Saturday night at LFA 220, earning an impressive victory over Jostin Quilca that further solidified his status as one of the top flyweight prospects outside the promotion.
With poise, speed, and finishing intent on full display, Natividad made a powerful statement in what many believe could be his final stop before a UFC call-up
“I feel good man, I’m so excited and just blessed to be here,” Natividad told Cageside Press following his first round TKO victory in the co-main event.
“I know I’ve always been capable having such a performance like this. Today I was just able to piece things together.”
Natividad (8-0) recently made the move to The MMA Lab, one of Arizona’s premier MMA gyms, and credited his team for the victory, noting the transition has already paid dividends.
“I got to thank my camp over at The MMA Lab. They’ve been able to help me just piece things together. I’m truly fortunate for them” he said.
Next for the undefeated flyweight is the move he’s been chasing from the start, a call-up to the UFC. That’s always been the ultimate goal for Natividad, and his impressive finish over Quilca may be the moment that finally sets it in motion.
“I’m ready. Hey you guys let me know if it’s next week, tomorrow,” said Natividad.
“You know how to find me.”
