UFC middleweight champion Khamzat Chimaev was far from impressed by Reinier de Ridder’s performance at UFC Vancouver. After watching de Ridder retire on the stool between rounds in his loss to Brendan Allen, Chimaev offered a blunt reaction.

“This bullsh*t guy give up,” Chimaev wrote on X.

De Ridder (21-3) entered UFC Vancouver riding a four-fight win streak, most recently defeating former UFC champion Robert Whittaker. Following that victory, he began openly campaigning for a title shot.

“I don’t want to fight anyone like this man again. He was too tough. I want to finish a guy in the first round so maybe it would be better if I fought Khamzat or Dricus,” he said following the Whittaker win.

“Give me my title shot.”

With de Ridder’s streak now snapped, attention shifts toward Nassourdine Imavov as the likely next title challenger for Khamzat Chimaev. Imavov (17-4) is riding a five-fight win streak, boasting victories over former champion Israel Adesanya, Caio Borralho, Jared Cannonier, Roman Dolidze, and Allen.

There is currently no timeline for when Chimaev will make his first title defense, and UFC CEO Dana White was not in attendance to provide any update.
