More than a decade after their iconic rivalry reshaped mixed martial arts, Chris Weidman and Anderson Silva are set to settle unfinished business, this time inside the boxing ring. The two former UFC champions will meet as the opening bout on the main card of the Tank Davis vs. Jake Paul event on November 14.

Most Valuable Promotions announced the matchup in a press release Thursday morning, confirming the card will stream live on Netflix.

Silva (3-1 boxing, 34-11 MMA) has continued to dabble in combat sports since retiring from MMA in 2020 after his final UFC fight. Since then, the former UFC champion has stepped into the boxing ring against Tito Ortiz, Julio César Chávez Jr., Bruno Azeredo, Chael Sonnen, and Jake Paul.

Weidman (16-8 MMA) has yet to compete in a professional boxing match. The former UFC middleweight champion retired from MMA earlier this year and has only appeared in a grappling bout against Pat Downey in May since hanging up the gloves.

This will mark the third chapter in the Weidman–Silva saga, with their first two meetings in MMA both going Weidman’s way. Their 2013 clash at UFC 162 shocked the world when Weidman knocked out Silva to claim the middleweight title, and later that year, he earned another TKO victory after Silva suffered a devastating leg injury in their rematch.

“I am super excited to embark on another battle against Chris,” said Silva in the press release.

“We have a history and on Friday, November 14th, live only on Netflix, we’re putting another stamp on our chapter together. It will be a spectacle for the fans!”

“I’m undefeated in boxing and it’s gonna stay that way on Friday, November 14, live on Netflix,” said Weidman. “I’m the original spider killer.”

The event will be headlined by Tank Davis taking on Jake Paul on Netflix.
