UFC featherweight Ricardo Ramos will looked to bounce back with an electrifying performance on home soil when he faced rising Australian prospect Kaan Ofli  at UFC Rio.

Ramos (17-7) enters UFC Rio looking to bounce back from a loss to Chepe Mariscal in March. Having gone just 1-3 in his last four outings, the Brazilian knows this matchup with Ofli carries added significance for his future in the division.

Ofli (11-4-1) is aiming to get back on track after suffering back-to-back losses. The TUF 32 finalist will look to rebound at UFC Rio following defeats to Mairon Santos and Muhammad Naimov.

Round 1 – Ofli opened the fight with early pressure as Ramos circled on the outside, targeting the legs and body with sharp kicks. Ofli caught one of those kicks but, in the ensuing scramble, found himself trapped in a dangerous kneebar.

Showing excellent composure, Ofli spun and defended the submission beautifully, transitioning to Ramos’ back and hunting for the neck crank while threatening a rear-naked choke. Ramos managed to stand with Ofli on his back and pressed him against the cage in an attempt to shake him off.

The Australian stayed patient, maintaining control before finally slipping his left arm under the chin and cranking the choke to force the tap.

An incredible submission victory for Kaan Ofli.
