Andrew Stewart Eyes UFC Call-Up After LFA 219: “I’ll Fight Anybody on the Planet”

Andrew Stewart is set to make his promotional debut LFA 219 in Clarksville, Tennessee on October 10, where he’ll square off against dangerous grappler Jonathan Waid in a pivotal lightweight clash.

With both men looking to make a statement on one of the sport’s premier developmental stages, Stewart enters determined to prove that his power, pace, and composure can carry him one step closer to the next level.

Stewart’s (4-1) path to LFA 219 hasn’t been straightforward. He has struggled to find consistent opponents willing to face him, often bouncing between weight classes just to stay active and keep his momentum alive.

“All the time. My last fight, I was looking for a welterweight the entire time, then we got a couple weeks out then moved it to start looking at middleweights. We got a little bit closer, and then we got somebody that said they would take it at light heavy,” Stewart told Cageside Press.

“I just wanted to get fights. I have goals, I have places I’m trying to get to, so I’ll take the fight whatever way. Doesn’t bother me at all.”

Despite the opponent changes and weight fluctuations, Stewart’s mindset has remained steady. The lightweight contender says his confidence comes not from bravado, but from preparation, a belief that his work in the gym always translates when the cage door closes.

“I have an uber amount of confidence going into fights. I’ve never felt like I was going in with the smaller guns. Go in and execute the game plan. It’s more of just sticking to the process,” he said.

For Stewart, LFA 219 isn’t just another fight. It’s a chance to remind the world he belongs on the sport’s biggest stage. Brimming with energy ahead of his return, the Nashville resident says he’s ready for whatever opportunity comes next, even if it means stepping in on short notice right into a UFC debut.

“I feel great going into it though. Very, very excited. Almost a little bit too excited to be back.”

“I would love to get a call from the big show. I would love an opportunity, a short notice, I have no problems fighting at 85. They could call me up two days notice and I’ll make 85 and go fight anybody on the planet,” he said.

“The UFC is my number 1 goal. If it were there after this fight that would be a blessing, thank God. If not, I’m going to line up and do it again as soon as possible and hopefully get a call after that. I’m just going to take it one fight at a time and stay prepared.”
