Carlos Ulberg Says He’s Done Talking, Ready for UFC Gold

Fresh off his highlight-reel knockout of Dominick Reyes, Carlos Ulberg is now setting his sights on the ultimate prize, a shot at UFC gold, as he looks to continue his rapid rise in the light heavyweight division.

Ulberg (13-1) spoke with the quiet confidence of a man who knows his time has come. The surging light heavyweight made it clear he’s earned his place among the division’s elite, and says he doesn’t need trash talk to prove it.

“I’m not too much of a trash talker, but now we’re here. Now we’re here,” Ulberg told reporters including Cageside Press at his guest-fighter scrum at UFC 320.

“I proved myself and that’s what I like doing. I like to prove myself. The most important thing is to make sure that I know for myself that I belong here. I belong at that top.”

Ulberg insisted he’s earned his spot among the division’s top contenders. He made it clear he’s willing to silence critics by taking on whoever stands in his way, even if that means fighting Jiri Prochazka or Khalil Rountree Jr, who fought at UFC 320 as well.

“They know what it is. They know who deserves the spot. I definitely know that I’m next on the spot. I’ve earned my due, but I’m not even going to call for it anymore. I will fight anyone. I will fight anyone. If I have to, just to prove to the critics or anyone in the division, anyone, I will fight Jiri or Khalil. Whoever wins between the both of them,” he said.

“I’ll fight them just to make sure that everyone can shut up and I am next.”
