Middleweights José Daniel Medina and Duško Todorović meet at Noche UFC on Saturday night in a pivotal clash of fighters searching for stability and consistency.
Medina (11-5), still chasing his first UFC win, brings knockout power but limited consistency. With three consecutive losses coming into this fight with Todorović he’s clearly a man with his back against the wall.
Todorović (12-6) looks to halt his own three-fight skid with his high-volume striking and veteran savvy. Losses to Christian Leroy Duncan, Mansur Abdul-Malik, and Zachary Reese have him on the chopping block in the UFC.
For both men, this fight is less about style points and more about survival in the promotion.
Round 1 – Todorovic was not about to let Medina get his offense going and he put a lot pressure on him. A shot somewhere busted Medina open near one of his eyes, and he fired back like he saw red.
Todorovic seemed to be just a step ahead of Medina landing quick counter shots in between his opponent’s big shots. Todorovic was able to drag Medina down, grabbed the rear-naked choke, and scored a first round finish over Jose Daniel Medina.
