Contender Series contract winner Carol Foro was not surprised at the durability of opponent Shanelle Dyer on Tuesday.

Despite being knocked down, Dyer kept right on going, forcing the fight to play out for the full 15 minutes. “I think that everyone has that ability. Just, you get knocked down, and you get back up,” Foro (9-1) said following the event, speaking with media outlets including Cageside Press backstage at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. “I think I could have done a little more, I just kind of hurt my hand early on. But yeah, we know they can get up.”

Her ability to do more, however, appeared to be negated when the Brazilian was compromised early in the fight. Foro believes she hurt her hand off a punch that actually knocked Shanelle Dyer down. “That’s the one.”

“I’m kind of bummed about my performance,” she later added. “I trained to be better, I could have been better, but the final goal was to get this contract. So we got it.”

When Dana White came over to pay her regards following the bout, Foro wasn’t sure how to react. “He scared me a little bit. He surprised me, because I was kind of bummed, again, for not having finished the fight, about my performance,” she admitted. “I just didn’t know what to say, I didn’t know how to react.”

She turned to her team for their take on the UFC CEO and President’s words. “I’m very happy to know that that’s a great thing when he comes over.”
