Lerryan Douglas

Pros:
-Kicks hard
-Good pocket striker
-Capable wrestler
-Knockout power/Heavy hands
-Solid TDD
-Nasty left hook
-Chopping leg kicks
-Uses feints well
Cons:
-Lacks top control
-Vulnerable to leg kicks
-Doesn’t like getting hit/Turtles up

Douglas’ recent run absolutely justifies an opportunity at the next level. He’s riding a four-fight win streak—all by knockout—against solid regional competition, culminating in capturing LFA gold. His time at Bloodline Combat Sports has clearly paid off.

Previously, his defensive grappling was a concern, but that area has seen noticeable improvement. His takedown defense has come a long way, and while he’s capable of wrestling offensively and hunting for submissions, a lack of control on the mat makes him a more effective striker overall.

There are still some durability concerns. He’s been vulnerable to leg kicks in multiple fights, and when he’s caught clean, he sometimes shells up rather than fighting through the damage. Still, with his recent momentum, it’s fair to wonder if he’s turned a corner.

On the feet, Douglas is a serious threat. He’s a powerful, aggressive striker with sharp kicks—especially to the lead leg and body—and is dangerous when blitzing. Even if he misses the first shot, he often follows up with something fight-ending. He’s got knockout power in both hands, though his left is his deadliest weapon. He frequently leads with the left hook, throws it in combination, and angles off with it smoothly.

Douglas is a finisher who builds as the fight goes on, which only adds to his danger. He’s earned a shot in the UFC by consistently improving and proving it in the cage.

Cam Teague

Pros:
-Forward pressure
-Good jab
-Good clinchwork
-Credible grappling
-Good chin
-Good cardio
-Chopping leg kicks
-Good bodywork
Cons:
-Chin up
-Questionable TDD
-Lacks head movement
-Sits in the pocket too long

Teague has earned another shot, especially after stepping up on short notice last season against a tough opponent like Kevin Vallejos. Since then, he’s picked up two more wins and even notched a victory in professional boxing. However, the level of competition he’s faced has been low, and going to war with one of those opponents doesn’t reflect well on his overall trajectory.

Still, Teague is an exciting, all-action fighter—he’s either the hammer or the nail, and while he’s only been the nail once so far, his style makes it likely we’ll see more of that in the future. He’s aggressive to a fault, often leaving his chin exposed and lingering in the pocket too long after throwing. That said, he’s got a deep bag of tools, solid cardio, and a dependable chin, which makes him a live dog in almost any matchup.

Teague thrives on pressure. He works behind a steady jab, rips the body, and does solid work in the clinch. But unless he shores up his defense, particularly his head movement and positioning, it’s going to limit how far he can go.

Prediction: Teague has been getting opportunities, but not favorable matchups. His lack of defense made the fight against Vallejos an uphill battle, and it’s the same story here against Douglas. While Teague is tough and can take a shot, Douglas is a different level of power puncher. It’s hard to see Teague reacting well to a clean left hook from someone with Douglas’ knockout ability.

For Teague to win, he’ll need to drag this into a brawl early and hope to overwhelm Douglas before taking too much damage. But he’s not likely to wear Douglas down over time—Douglas has solid cardio and tends to get stronger as the fight goes on.

The most likely outcome? Douglas finds a big shot in the pocket and scores an early TKO. Expect a wild one—this has all the makings of either a quick finish or an all-out war.
