Hollywood, FL — After losing back-to-back fights, first in the 2024 PFL light heavyweight final and then in his first fight of the PFL World Tournament at middleweight earlier this year, Impa Kasanganay returned to the win column at PFL Hollywood with a TKO finish of fellow UFC alum Andrew Sanchez.
There are a lot of options for Kasanganay (19-6) moving forward, including next year’s tournament and the PFL Champions Series. One thing is certain, Kasanganay told media outlets including Cageside Press following PFL Hollywood.
“What you saw today will pale in comparison to what you see in the future.”
Outside of the cage, Kasanganay, who earned a million dollars for his 2023 PFL championship win, is moving into the world of finance. He’s taken a role with world renowned accounting firm Ernst & Young.
“It’s one of the big four accounting firms. November 12 is my start date, so I’ve just got to finish some things, and God willing everything finishes through, but I’ll be in consulting and doing finance,” Kasanganay revealed. “So I’ll be doing that while fighting; I’ll be active for sure.”
Thursday’s victory came at middleweight, his second fight in the division since moving back down from light heavyweight. It seems Impa Kasanganay is feeling his best there, though he’s open to other weight classes as well.
“It feels good to be back. I ran into Dovlet [Yagshimuradov] this weekend. Some of these guys are bigger, but I’d still fight anybody. Heavyweight, Francis [Ngannou] where you at? It doesn’t matter to me. A fight’s a fight. But I do really feel good at 85, and this is probably the best I’ve ever belt body wise, head to my toes, everything. Mentally, physically, spiritually.”
