Kevin Holland Wants 7 Fights In 2025, Still Calling Out Covington

UFC welterweight Kevin Holland gets his fourth fight of 2025 at UFC 318 against Daniel Rodriguez this Saturday night and plans to fight more before the year is over.

Holland (28-13) asked the press what the record was with one reporter stating that it was 6 in one year. Of course Holland wants to one up that record.

“So I got to do seven just to go ahead and top the record. We’re four down,” Holland told reporters including Cageside Press on Wednesday.

“I figure we get Neil Magny after this one since he’s one of those fellow guys that has five wins in a row in a year. Then we’ll go get the 5th win against somebody else. I can fight a lot. At 170 pounds I’m learning each time it’s just not that f*cking hard to ge to.”

Holland planned out the rest of his year, including hoping for a scrap at Noche UFC in September, in hopes of reaching that 7-win mark. Assuming he wins all of those fights it’s very possible he’d be up for a title shot.

In hilarious Holland fashion he didn’t even seem to care about a shot at gold. Just wants a certain name that keeps avoiding him.

“I think I’m gonna do all that and still be trying to fight Colby (Covington) next year,” he said.

Covington hasn’t fought since December of last year taking a loss to Joaquin Buckley. Going 2-4 in his last six fights isn’t a good look for him, but he’s been quiet about coming back to fighting outside of calling out Paddy Pimblett. Pimblett fights at 155 pounds.

“First he was like, when he thought he could fight Paddy and go down a weight class, he was 100% healthy. Soon as they said my name vaginal muscle tore,” he said.

“Takes about 8-12 weeks to heal so not an easy process.”
