UFC lightweight Mauricio Ruffy has made quite the splash since entering the UFC including what may be the knockout of the year for his win over Bobby Green at UFC 313.
Ruffy (12-1) scored the 16th wheel kick knockout in UFC history that night over the more experienced Green. The knockout put Green down for a few minutes before he was able to walk out of the cage under his own power.
“It was amazing to get that knockout done actually making that true because I’ve been training a lot for that one,” Ruffy told Cageside Press through a translator at UFC X during International Fight Week.
“I told the UFC I was going to introduce some new things, they laughed at me, look at what I’ve done.”
Ruffy may already have something in the works in terms of a fight, but the lightweight is not telling. No hints, but he lets fans know that you may want to make sure you tune in to this one.
“Can’t miss this one. Hold on just a little bit,” he said.
“Something crazy’s about to happen.”
After that wheel kick KO Ruffy landed MMA fans are ready for more.
