Dominick Reyes: “I’ve got the best left in the game. No debate about that.”

UFC light heavyweight Dominick Reyes was on cloud 9 after his KO victory over Nikita Krylov at UFC 314 on Saturday night.

“Dream come true fight for me,” Reyes told reporters including Cageside Press at his post-fight scrum.

“I got to represent America in front of my president. He was rooting for me and then he told me how proud of me he is that I’m representing the country. Since I was a small child I’ve always wanted to meet the president. I finally got to do it as an athlete.”

Reyes (15-4) landed a nasty left hook as Krylov rushed in to attack that put the Russian down and ended the fight. Reyes wasn’t shy about putting his left hand up there as the best in the division.

Or even the entire sport.

“I’m going to tell you right now I got the best left in the game. There ain’t no debate about that,” he said.

Next for Reyes could be a pretty big fight looking at how open the light heavyweight division is now with Magomed Ankalaev as champion. The champ has hinted as an August date in Chicago, but it would be against the former champion Alex Pereira.

Reyes isn’t sure who, or when, he’ll fight again, but he knows there’s plenty of action available for him.

“We’ll see,” he said.

“But I don’t need five rounds, right? There’s a lot of great fights out there for me. I’m going to be here for a while.”
