The Professional Fighters League kicks off its World Tournament, with featherweights and welterweights in the spotlight at the 2025 PFL 1 card on Thursday in Orlando, Florida.

Former Bellator MMA welterweight champions Jason Jackson and Andrey Koreshkov headlined the show, which marked the promotion’s shift from a season format featuring a convoluted points system, to a “win or go home” grand prix, similar to Bellator, RIZIN, and PRIDE grand prixs of years past.

Also on the PFL 1 card on Thursday, which took place on the Universal Studios backlot, Canadian Jeremy Kennedy, a former Bellator title challenger, was paired up with Movlid Khaybulaev, a former PFL champ whose last couple of years had been marred by injury and inactivity.

The PFL 1 card was thrown for a loop on Wednesday when Magomed Umalatov, a 2024 finalist scheduled to face Logan Storley, missed weight for the fight. He was pulled from the tournament, replaced by Joseph Luciano, one of two alternates who had been set to face off in prelim action.
