“What’s up everybody, UFC and Meta just signed a massive long-term partnership. Meta will now become UFC’s first ever official fan technology partner,” White said on Instagram.
“This is great news for UFC fans. Meta will use all of their bad ass apps and technology like Instagram, Facebook, Threads, WhatsApp, and Meta AI to create amazing content and experiences for UFC fans.”
The video gave no real detail as to how that will work, but safe to say announcements will come as they implement the new technology.
White has been pushing for a fix to UFC rankings after disagreeing with how the media panel has been voting. The UFC CEO recently suggested AI may be the way to fix the rankings and the deal with Meta will begin that process according to White.
“We’ve already started to work with Meta to create a new fighter ranking system that will debut later this year, thank God,” he said.
“The next few years will be an absolute game-changer for fans of this sport. Stay tuned everybody.”
