UFC Kansas City gets a high-profile welterweight bout on April 26 at the T-Mobile Center between #7 Ian Machado Garry and #13 Carlos Prates in the main event.
Dana White announced the bouts on Tuesday.
Garry (15-1) will see action for the first time since suffering his first professional loss at the hands of Shavkat Rakhmonov at UFC 310. The loss snapped an 8-fight UFC win streak that Garry hoped would get him a title shot before falling in that short-notice bout.
Prates (21-6) gets a higher-ranked opponent in Garry coming off a TKO victory over the very durable Neil Magny last November. Prates holds victories over Magny, Jingliang Li, Charles Radtke, and Trevin Giles.
Garry took to Instagram following the announcement.
