UFC light heavyweight Jan Blachowicz looks to use a victory over Carlos Ulberg at UFC London to get himself back in the title picture after Saturday night.
Blachowicz (29-10-1) is in an interesting spot given he’s 2-2-1 in his last five bouts. One was a draw with current 205 champion Magomed Ankalaev at UFC 282 which Blachowicz no doubt would love to run back.
That fact still doesn’t do enough to take his focus away from Ulberg in London.
“Yeah we’ve got unfinished business, but first of all I’ve got business with Carlos,” Blachowicz told reporters including Cageside Press on Thursday.
“So focus about him, and after the fight we can talk what going to be next step.”
Even then he’ll need an impressive showing against Ulberg to gain another shot at Ankalaev. He doesn’t see any other direction to go, but towards the title, with a win on Saturday.
“I don’t see different option after the fight. If I (win), and I believe I’m going to be the winner, I don’t see different option for me,” he said.
“Only title shot.”
