Bare Knuckle FC is getting into the hockey fights business, as BKFC has purchased a stake in Ice Wars.

The bareknuckle boxing outfit recently announced the news, noting that the promotion will be rebranded as BKFC Ice Wars, with six events planned for 2025 – and as many as 24 hockey fight cards in 2026, per the promotion’s press release. The first show under the newly coined BKFC Ice Wars banner will pit Canadians versus Americans, cashing in on the longtime allies’ strained relationship due to the trade war sparked by U.S. President Donald Trump.

That event has been slotted in on Saturday, June 14, 2025 at the Soaring Eagle Casino and Resort in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan.

Ice Wars features competitors on skates, duking it out in hockey-style fights. Think your typical hockey fight, minus actual hockey. Competitors face off in “The Ice Box,” a 900-square enclosure designed specifically for fighting on ice. Fights range between three and five ninety-second rounds, with one minute breaks between each. Two refs are on the ice, and three judges score fights. Four weight classes have been adopted by BKFC Ice Wars – Lightweight (sub-150lbs), Middleweight (150-175lbs), Cruiserweight (175-200lbs), and heavyweight (above 200lbs).

It’s a shame Georges Laraque is retired frankly.

“We’ve been watching what the team at Ice Wars has been building, and it’s been incredible to see the passionate response they’ve received from audiences,” said David Feldman, Founder and President of BKFC, per the Ice Wars announcement. “Their vision and energy align perfectly with what we do at BKFC—bringing raw, high-adrenaline combat sports to fans in a way they’ve never seen before. Partnering with them to create BKFC Ice Wars was an easy decision, and we’re excited to take this to the next level together.”
