Two-time Contender Series alum Kevin Vallejos finally made his promotional debut at UFC Vegas 104 on Saturday, taking on Seung-Woo Choi in a featherweight fight.

The bout kicked off the Fight Night event’s main card, and found Choi coming in off a loss against Steve Garcia.

The fight kicked off with Choi throwing a lot of kicks. Vallejos was more conservative but you could see that he was loading up when he did fire back. Choi was doing a good job of fighting at range with the calf kicks and straight right however.

The few leg kicks landed by Vallejos were landing with more impact. Kevin Vallejos was inching his strikes in little by little, as was the case with his leg kicks and body work, while countering well. Once he found his timing, he slipped a right hand to land a right of his own. That dropped Choi and the unanswered ground n’ pound brought about an end to the fight.

He took a setback and then a return to form to get here, but Kevin Vallejos arrived in style in the UFC on Saturday. He called for a bonus following the finish, though he’ll have some stiff competition on that front.

Official Result: Kevin Vallejos def. Choi Seung-woo by TKO (Right hand and GNP), round 1, 3:09
