On Thursday evening, Oktagon MMA announced via social media that french fighters, Damien Lapilus and Anthony Salamone, would be pulled from Saturday night’s fight card.
The statement stated that Lapilus and Salamone were suspended by the French federation, due to doping violations and subsequent sanctions under articles 10.14 and 15.1.1.2 of the WADA (World Anti-Doping Agency) code.
On the main card, Damien Lapilus was supposed to face #5 ranked Lom-Ali Eskiev (22-7), who will now face Wanderley Junior. Wanderley Junior is a 5-time titleholder of multiple promotions in Brazil, Russia and Kazakhstan. He has a record of 17-9.
Anthony Salamone was supposed to face Middleweight Champion Kerim Engizek in the opening round of the Tipsport Gamechanger Tournament.
Announced after the weigh ins, Engizek will now face Kamil Oniszcuk. Oniszcuk was originally slated for a reserve bout in the Tipsport Gamechanger. He now moves into a 3 round, opening round fight against the newly crowned OktagonMMA Champion.
