Just a day after news broke of the Professional Fighter’s League sweeping changes to it’s organization, including the end of Bellator MMA, one of it’s biggest stars is sounding off on social media. Patricio Pitbull will stay silent no more.

“Self called co-leader in MMA and fighters first organization is cutting a bunch of fighters and forcing others to take pay cuts of up to 70%.

No respect for fighter contracts and what they’ve accomplished.”

“The self-called fighters first organization is also changing it contracts so it’s almost impossible for fighters to be free agents and to leave on free agency. Also tying down fighters payments for many years and taking away all their leverage.”

“The self-called co-leader in MMA is ghosting some fighters/managers and leaving them with no answers while the owner makes silly and disrespectful posts on social media.”

Patricio Pitbull (36-7) has been one of the loudest voices coming from the former Bellator MMA roster going after PFL co-founder Donn Davis. Ever since the purchase of Bellator by PFL in late 2023 there have been numerous ‘growing pains’ in terms of merging the companies.

Since the purchase it seems as though it’s been more often bad than good news for the organization. Event cancelations, confusing fans and fighters alike with so many different fight brands all at once, and now fighters are speaking out about the new PFL contracts.

Add on top of all that a brief yet very public spat started by Davis at UFC CEO Dana White that did not go well for the PFL co-founder.

Pitbull reached out to one member of the executive wing of PFL in heavyweight Francis Ngannou.

“Hey @francis_ngannou are you aware of all the absurd things PFL is doing to fighters and putting on the new contracts? Will you ever speak up for us?

I’m thinking it’s time we start a PFL Fighters Union. What do you think?”

The idea of a fighter union has been explored for years with very little success. It didn’t seem necessary in the PFL which has touted itself as a fighter’s first promotion, but now it seems as though at least one fighter is looking to push the idea further.

Neither Davis nor Ngannou have responded publicly to Patricio Pitbull’s claims online.
