RIZIN Decade wrapped up 2024 for the mixed martial arts world, and debuting MMA fighter Daichi Tomizawa took full advantage of appearing on the Japanese promotion’s annual New Year’s Eve extravaganza.
Marking ten years of RIZIN Fighting Federation, Decade was split into three parts, RIZIN 49 Part 1, Part 2, and kicking off the night, RIZIN Bangaichi. Tomizawa, in the fourth fight of the evening, was paired up with Kota Miura, and didn’t take long to pull off a highlight reel finish.
Daichi Tomizawa just SMOKED Kota Miura at #RIZIN_DECADE – absolutely NASTY knee. Good to see Miura up and walking out under his own power. (Footage courtesy of RIZIN FF/RIZIN.tv) pic.twitter.com/4rvo1npmzc

In the opening round, Tomizawa appeared to wobble Miura with a punch. Miura briefly dropped to a knee, then ate a knee for his troubles. Flat on his back, the follow-up strike delivered prior to the ref intervening was absolutely brutal. With that, Daichi Tomizawa had his first win in MMA, and first win for the company, after competing in kickboxing (including his promotional debut at RIZIN 45).
As for Miura, he was able to leave the ring under his own power, thankfully. The loss drops him to 2-2 as a pro.
RIZIN Decade continues to unfold at the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan, with three title fights set for later in the event. The main event sees featherweight champ Chihiro Suzuki looking to defend against Kleber Koike.
