Vinny Magalhaes Arrested In Las Vegas On Assault With Deadly Weapon Charge

Former UFC and PFL fighter Vinny Magalhaes has been arrested in Las Vegas and charged with three felony charges including assault with a deadly weapon.

AG Fight was the first to report the arrest.

According to reports Magalhaes, 40, is accused of threatening three victims with a weapon during a domestic dispute. Nobody was hurt in the incident.

Court records show Magalhaes has a court date set for Dec. 23. A conviction on all three felony charges could mean a maximum penalty of 18 years in prison. He is currently in custody at the Clark County Detention Center.

Magalhaes is a veteran of the sport, but also a big name in Jiu-Jitsu. The former no-gi ADCC champion was inducted into the ADCC Hall of Fame in 2024, and held MMA titles in Titan FC and M-1 Global.

The former light heavyweight fighter took part in The Ultimate Fighter: Team Nogueira vs. Team Mir. He made it to the finals only to lose to Ryan Bader in the finale via first round TKO.

He took part in one more fight with the promotion, a loss to Eliot Marshall, at UFC 97. Shortly after he was cut from the UFC having gone 0-2 before eventually joining the PFL formerly known as the World Series of Fighting.
