Oktagon 64: Moeil vs. Todoev will have to go on without the main event after the fight was canceled on fight night.
Sources tell Cageside Press that Hatef Moeil, current Oktagon MMA heavyweight champion, refused to fight after being fined 30% of his purse. The fine comes after Moeil threw his Oktagon MMA belt at Todoev starting a scuffle.
Oktagon MMA promoter Pavol Neruda reportedly suffered a cut when the belt made contact with him after Moeil threw it.
Moeil (15-4) was set to defend his Oktagon MMA heavyweight title for the first time since he won it against Todev at Oktagon 49 in 2023. He is currently 4-0 in the promotion.
Moeil’s team too to Instagram to express frustration with the cancelation and the treatment their fighter got from Oktagon MMA.

“Fight canceled! They want @hatefmoeil @pino_pedram to promote basically a dead, weak card ! Otherwise the Press conference would be like a SLEEPING PILL without Hatef. The press conference got like over 1,2 million views within a very short time but then they want to punish Hatef for things they in reality want him to do, to PROMOTE 🤦🏻♂️ making a simple man look like a bad guy ! You don’t pay fighters properly, in fact very bad indeed let alone being a Champion and on top of that, you want to take 30% of that as well ? 😡🤦🏻♂️”
In the post they included examples of UFC superstar Conor McGregor and his own antics at UFC press conferences.
Moeil for his part also took to IG with a short message for his fans.

“decided not to compete tonight. I’m sorry to disappoint so many of you.
However, I feel forced to. Many unpleasant things have happened in the last hours – and for me it is certain that I will not let myself be treated like this.
#oktagon #großer #politiker#👎🏽 #🤦🏽♂️”
No word on Moeil’s future following the event.
