“Street Jesus” looks to make his way back to the octagon in April 2025 with a possible UFC fight card in Miami.
Jorge Masvidal (35-17) was on Fight Back with Jake Shields and dropped the news nonchalantly at the very end of his appearance on the show.
“I’ll be back April next year in the UFC. We don’t have the opponent yet. Hopefully by December we’ve got the opponent. April, Miami card,” he said.
Masvidal has been out of the octagon since dropping a decision against Gilbert Burns at UFC 297 in 2023. That marked a fourth straight loss in the UFC and fans saw Masvidal put the gloves down following the loss to Burns.
“This is where I started my career,” Masvidal told the crowd at UFC 297 in Miami, FL.
“It’s been a long 20 years. 50 something fights. Sometimes your favorite basketball player ain’t got that three-pointer no more. Your favorite quarterback loses that rifle. I don’t feel the same when I get in here no more. I love all of you. UFC came here 20 years ago and it inspired me to chase this dream for 20 years, 50 something fights later, hopefully I inspired someone in here to go fight for theirs no matter what it is.”
“I love this f*cking sport. I’m a multi-millionaire. I didn’t start from sh*t. I didn’t have sh*t when I started. I can say I’m good for life now.”
Well it looks like Jorge Masvidal feels he has something left in the tank after all.
