3. Undefeated Talents Take Flight
The PFL World Championship will feature three undefeated fighters in their first tournament final, notably bringing attention to the talent scouting of the promotion at a time when the hunt for the next great prospect or contender has become highly competitive.
The main event will feature featherweight Timur Khizriev (17-0) against a former champion in Brendan Loughnane. While Khizriev was still building his name under the Bellator banner in his three appearances, the schedule of the PFL season allowed him to expedite the growth of both his profile and his fortunes as he bested Brett Johns, Enrique Barzola, and early tournament favorite Gabriel Braga.
In other action, PFL veteran Magomed Umalatov (17-0) will look to finally finish a season on top after being forced out of the playoffs last season due to an injury. He will be facing another undefeated talent in Shamil Musaev (19-0-1) who notably entered the PFL as a new talent who had never fought for either the UFC or Bellator prior to joining the promotion. The soft-spoken Musaev stopped Bellator veteran Logan Storley and had back-to-back victories over former ONE standout Murad Ramazanov this season.
