UFC middleweight Reinier de Ridder wasted no time getting a big matchup as he gets Kevin Holland at UFC 311 on Jan 18 in Los Angeles.
Alex Behunin was the first to report the news.
De Ridder (18-2) made a splash in his UFC debut earlier this month when he submitted fellow Jiu-Jitsu specialist Gerald Meerschaert at the UFC APEX. The former two-division ONE Championship champ made his way to the UFC following a 7-2 run in the former promotion.
Holland (26-12) will look to bounce back from a loss against Roman Dolidze at UFC 307 in October. The middleweight injured a rib in the first round that stopped the fight on the stool. A big fan-favorite for his willingness to fight anybody at any weight Holland holds victories over Michal Oleksiejczuk, Michael Chiesa, Santiago Ponzinibbio, and Tim Means to name a few.
UFC 311 takes place on Jan 18 at the new Intuit Dome in Los Angeles, California. The UFC’s return to LA will presumably be headlined by Islam Mackhachev vs. Arman Tsarukyan although the matchup is yet to be officially announced.
Jiri Prochazka broke news on his own social media announcing that he would be facing Jamahal Hill at UFC 311. Jailton Almeida vs. Sergei Spivac is also set for that card along with Johnny Walker vs. Bogdan Guskov, and now Kevin Holland vs. Reinier de Ridder.
