The fallout continues for UFC superstar Conor McGregor who earlier this week lost a ruling in a Dublin court finding him liable for the sexual assault of a woman in 2018.
The Currency reports that retail giant Musgrave sent notice to it’s stores that any drinks associated with McGregor were to be removed from it’s stores. Musgrave controls Supervalu, Centra and Donnybrook Fair.
On top of that Tesco and Ocado stores have removed Proper 12 whisky from it’s shelves in response to the ruling.
“We can confirm that we are removing Proper No 12 Whiskey from sale in Tesco stores and online,” a Tesco spokesperson told Metro.
Promixo Spirits, who own Proper No. Twelve Irish Whiskey, announced that they would be cutting ties with McGregor as well.
“Since 2021, Proximo Spirits has been the 100 percent owner of Proper No. Twelve Irish Whiskey. Going forward, we do not plan to use Mr. McGregor’s name and likeness in the marketing of the brand,” the company announced.
On Monday popular video game ‘Hitman’ announced that it would be dropping McGregor as well. The game had incorporated McGregor as part of downloadable content package that had him in there as a character.

McGregor (22-6) has been out of action since July 2021 when he suffered a leg injury against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264.
Plenty of returns have been teased, but none have come to fruition including the closest he’s come to fighting. McGregor was scheduled to face Michael Chandler at UFC 303, but a toe injury took him out of the fight.
Since then UFC CEO Dana White announced McGregor would likely be out until late 2025.
Conor McGregor has not issued a statement on the removal of his likeness and brands from stores as of this post.
