Looks like two of the best middleweights in the UFC will give it a second go as Anthony Hernandez and Brendan Allen will meet in the octagon once again at a UFC even on Feb 22.

First reported by Alex Behunin.

The two first met at at LFA 32 in 2018. Allen got the better of Hernandez by decision that night and three fights, and a title later, he found himself at Dana White’s Contender Series.

Hernandez meanwhile got a shot just a few months later on DWCS which he won, but had the decision overturned due to testing positive for marijuana. He made his UFC debut in Feb 2019 against Markus Perez.

Hernandez (13-2) is on a hot streak coming into the rematch. His win over Michel Pereira in October marked his 6th consecutive victory and got him to #13 in the rankings. All but one of those victories ended by finish which sees ‘Fluffy’ as one of the hottest prospects at 185 pounds.

Allen (24-6) saw his own win streak snapped by a loss in September. He dropped a decision to Nassourdine Imavov in Paris which stopped his 7-fight win streak in it’s tracks. Still ranked in the top 10 at #9 he’ll look to get back in the win column against Hernandez.

The UFC Fight Night even set for Feb 22 is rumored to be taking place in Seattle, Washington.

The card, as of now, looks as follows:

  • Brendan Allen vs. Anthony Hernandez
  • Edson Barboza vs. Steve Garcia
  • Ketlen Vieira vs. Macy Chiasson
