Contender Series alum Mansur Abdul-Malik made his octagon debut at UFC Vegas 100, taking on fellow DWCS vet Dusko Todorovic.
Abdul-Malik brought a perfect 6-0 record with him, while Todorovic was 3-4 to start his UFC run, and looking to get back to .500.
In turned out to be a big night for the debuting Abdul-Malik, in a fight that did not last long.
In the opening round, Dusko Todorovic marched forward with a flurry of strikes but rushed into a counter punch by Abdul-Malik, dropping him. Todorovic was attacking the leg lock but was allowing Abdul-Malik, on top, to land heavy blows. They eventually got back to their feet and Todorovic still appeared to be shaken. Abdul-Malik would land some big shots and drop Todorovic once again, this time with a huge knee right up the middle. Some extra hammer fists had the ref stopping the fight, giving Abdul-Malik the victory in his debut. It took just over half a round for the debuting middleweight to seal the deal.
Following the statement win, Mansur Abdul-Malik spoke of wanting to remain the same person he was for the entirety of his journey – and suggested that there were more big moments to come.
