Light heavyweight action is joining the first UFC Pay-Per-View of 2025.
Johnny Walker (21-9, 1NC) will take on Bogdan Guskov (16-3) at UFC 311 on January 18, 2025. The event does not yet have a location, venue, or broadcast plan officially announced by the promotion.
News of the booking was first reported by Octagon Update.
Walker will be looking for his first win since May of 2023 in the fight. After a No Contest against Magomed Ankalaev in October that year, Walker was finished first in a rematch, then by Volkan Oezdemir, going 0-2 through 2024.
Prior to that, the Brazilian had been on a three-fight win streak with victories over Ion Cutelaba, Paul Craig, and Anthony Smith.
Guskov, a relatively fresh face in the UFC light heavyweight division, has earned back-to-back Performance of the Night bonuses care of wins against Zac Pauga and Ryan Spann. He’s 2-1 in the UFC overall, losing to Volkan Oezdemir in his debut, and previously competed for Brave CF among other promotions.
Johnny Walker is ranked #9, and Bogdan Guskov #14 in the UFC’s 205lb weight class.
January 18, 2025’s UFC 311 does not have a main event currently announced. Two other fights have been reported for the event thus far, including a heavyweight scrap featuring contenders Jailton Almeida and Serghei Spivac.
